    Having been slid in and out of this machine recently, I probably would have enjoyed looking around at it when the event happened. Thanks for the pix.

    The really impressive thing is all that hardware must revolve centered on a point a few microns (millionth of an inch) in diameter. This is because to get sub-millimeter resolution the wobble must be a small fraction of that size.

    I zoomed in to the center of the photo to verify what I think I saw, and —- YES– that orange horizontal bar in the middle is a CARPENTER’S LEVEL!!!
