“10 inventors killed by their own inventions” [Video]

Technically, some of the people featured in the video weren’t killed by their inventions but rather because of their inventions. Still, an interesting video.

LOL … well, perhaps not “cheerful” but informative?

I gotta watch it again, I think. You know, several of those items definitely required that someone risk their life in order to have them developed in a reasonable amount of time – submarine, radiation, etc. We owe those inventors, as well as many others of our ancestors, a huge debt of gratitude for taking upon themselves a task they realized was dangerous and might kill them. Their self-sacrifice advanced civilization much faster than would otherwise have been possible.

    That was worthwhile watching. Thanks.

It is also worth pointing out that many of these inventions have subsequently paid back the one death many times over, and that others (notably, the submarine, but probably others) were very successfully used in prior to the death of the inventor, who was engaged in improvements.
