[iPhone] ‘Snap, Snap, Go!’ is a fun game where you must take funny pictures based on challenges

mzl.jxifcxip.320x480-75Every generation has its own “must play” card game. In generations past, that game has been whist, or poker, or baccarat. In more recent years, card games like Apples to Apples, Magic, and Cards Against Humanity have been incredibly popular. If you’ve played C.A.H. and loved its cynical, often risque sense of humor, then you’re sure to love Snap, Snap, Go!

What is it and what does it do

Main Functionality

Often compared to card games like Apples to Apples or Cards Against Humanity, Snap, Snap, Go! is a game that challenges players to take a funny picture in response to various written prompts. Other users vote on which response to the prompt is the most amusing or creative.

Pros

  • Funny prompts!
  • A great sense of community
  • Slick design

Cons

  • You can only log in with Facebook
  • May not be appropriate for younger players
  • This app is not on version 1.0 yet, and has a few stability issues as a result

Discussion

mzl.uefnsnsc.320x480-75There are a handful of other iPhone games out there that are similar to Snap, Snap, Go! However, none of them have grabbed me in quite the same way as Snap, Snap, Go! has. I think that has a lot to do with the design (which is polished and vivacious), and the app’s unique energy and persona.

Snap, Snap, Go! just has a certain attitude about it that’s refreshing, authentic, and just a little bit edgy. It also helps that Snap, Snap, Go! has a real leaning towards Internet/meme humor.

The majority of bad user reviews I’ve seen for Snap, Snap, Go! all revolve around one thing: the app requires you to log in using Facebook. Hopefully this will change with future updates: plenty of people are happy to make Facebook the hub of their social lives, but certainly not all.

Snap, Snap, Go! really needs to provide at least one alternate means of logging in, or else they need to start allowing guest logins. This one login option system makes even less sense when you consider that once you log in, you can add friends from both Twitter and Facebook. Why not let people use Twitter to log in?

With prompts like “It gets better with age…” and “On the Internet, no one knows you’re a [blank],” Snap, Snap, Go!’s prompts ensure that you get quality, hilarious results. This game is as creative, as silly, or as darkly humorous as you want it to be.

Conclusion and download link

The developers may describe this game as being for “awful” people, but the game itself is anything but. If you love games with a sense of humor (albeit a twisted sense of humor), this game is fun for photographers, photo fans, meme lovers, or people who just want to judge other people. If you like Apples to Apples or Cards Against Humanity, don’t miss your chance to play this game.
