Indian army mistook Jupiter and Venus as Chinese spy drones

Recently, the Indian army came across two strange objects in the sky. After much deliberation, the army concluded that both objects were unmanned Chinese spy drones. With that in mind, the Indian army spent the next six months tracking these so-called Chinese drones, only to find out they are actually Jupiter and Venus.
From August 2012 to February 2013, the Indian army has documented 329 sightings of these so-called spy drones over a lake in the border region. However, things didn’t seem to go as planned as the Indian army failed to completely figure out what these objects were. In the midst of all the confusion, the army sought advice via astronomers from the Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIAP).
“Our task was to determine whether these unidentified objects were celestial or terrestrial,” said senior astronomer and a member of the IIAP team, Tushar Prabhu.
Astronomers proceeded to study the motion of the objects due to the motion of the Earth’s rotation, and thus reported to the army that the first object is Jupiter and the second is Venus.
We’re guessing the higher ups in the Indian army didn’t take this news particularly well, as nearly 6 months of resources were wasted on tracking two planets. Which aren’t controlled by the Chinese, by the way. (Or so we hope…)
It’s a lucky thing Indian astronomers were able to identify these objects as Jupiter and Venus, or the world could have come face to face with another bloody and unnecessary war… with another planet. Furthermore, with all the technological advancements in the last decade, one would think the Indian army possesses of all the necessary tools to make sense of abnormalities such as this. Guess not.
