Feeling awkward peeping through the front door drapes? Have you had one of those moments where you get to the door, only to find out there was no one there? Or maybe you have always wanted the ability to know who rang the doorbell at your home, without you actually having to be at home. In either of these cases, there is a chance that a new high tech door called iDoorCam can come in handy.

iDoorCam is a gadget that, in conjunction with an iOS app, lets you see and talk to whoever is at your front door. When the bell is pressed, the device will send you an alert to your phone. Then you will be asked whether if you want to accept the alert. If you choose to accept the alert, the device will connect to your phone (an active WiFi connection is needed for the device to work) and live stream your front door through a built-in webcam.

The only downside is that it only works with iOS devices. We still don’t know if it is going to support Android or Windows Phones but I don’t see why it wouldn’t support other platforms to reach out to more users.

You can pre-order iDoorCam for $165 and will be available in October. The below video shows how the device works.
