47,000 BlackBerry apps are made by one single developer

We knew some developers had been exploiting Blackberry when they were offered free money for developing apps for Blackberry 10. In just a few week, Blackberry App World had reached over 100,000, leading some people to wonder how Blackberry achieved it. It was recently revealed that over 47,000 apps out of 120,00 were developed by “a single developer” and as you may have guessed, the quality of the apps is pretty much always crappy.
According to Ars Technica,
S4BB Limited, a self-described “leading edge” mobile app company based in Hong Kong, is the culprit in this case. Even a cursory glance at its products illustrates why you wouldn’t want its apps in your store—some of them (a QR reader, a scanner app) appear to have some practical use, but most others are either pointless (Mega Fart, which to its credit does exactly what it says it does) or really pointless (“apps” which serve as wrappers for the Amazon and Wikipedia mobile sites).
It doesn’t really mean that Blackberry App World only has free and cheap quality apps. It certainly does have some outstanding apps but it should be noted that no other major app stores, like Apple’s App Store and Google’s Play Store, are “composed of” useless applications that take over a third of the store. What’s more, Blackberry App World lacks some popular apps such as Instagram, Spotify and Rdio. Rather than the quantity, Blackberry should really focus on the quality.
So what do you guys think? Do you think Blackberry will do something about this?
