Images of Android 4.4 KitKat leak, show off redesigned interface [Rumor]

android4.4

Despite already being announced, we still don’t know when Android 4.4 KitKat will arrive or what it will look like when it does. But if these leaked images are the real deal, we might just have a sneak peek at the latter.

The pictures show off a very similar-looking interface in terms of functionality, but it looks like KitKat will be bringing with it a new, flatter design to Android — much like Google’s recently redesigned logo. The dialer in particular looks much cleaner and flatter, and the status bar along with many of the icons have received some tweaks.

Google’s separate mobile apps already feature this new aesthetic, so it would make sense that they would unify the design of their operating system to match its current offerings.

Is it a deliberate leakage to create a hype in the relevant segment? We dont know. The time has come when admob or chartboost or appnext will have to toil for the right mobile apps and games with multimedia features that fit such new devices.
