Texas Motor Speedway and Panasonic are building the world’s largest HD screen

Texas Motor Speedway and Panasonic are partnering up to build the “Big Hoss TV,” the world’s largest HD screen. The Big Hoss will measure at 218 feet wide 95 feet tall, resulting in a viewing area of 20,633  square feet. That’s a 4.8 million pixel display, with 281 trillion colors weighing at about 108 tons. It’s bigger than 32 standard size billboards and heavier than er, 7 elephants.

The gigantic screen is scheduled to begin operation in the spring of 2014, just in time for the  Texas 500 NASCAR doubleheader. Here’s a little teaser vid for the Big Hoss, followed by an infographic that should provide all the random facts you’d need:

Probably needs at least 4K video for unnoticeable pixelation.

I wonder how long it will be before it’s hacked?
Then the astronauts could watch Game of Thrones too.

I would have no use for it : it will not fit inside my living room…
