This guide is accomplished with a terminal. Open a terminal by opening the Unity dash and searching for ‘terminal’.
This guide should work on all versions of Ubuntu.
Razor Qt is a lightweight QT based desktop environment.
“It has been tailored for users who value simplicity, speed, and an intuitive interface. Unlike most desktop environments, Razor Qt also works fine with weak machines.”
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:razor-qt
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install razorqt
sudo apt-get install -y ppa-purge
sudo ppa-purge ppa:razor-qt
sudo apt-get autoremove
Fancy and graphically intense Desktop environment are a nice thing to have, but they don’t work out great for everyone. Taking this into account, it’s great to see a great alternative to the heavy Desktop environments like Gnome, KDE and Unity. Enjoy!
