How to cut or split MP3 audio files on Windows with Free MP3 Cutter [Tip]

free mp3 cutterI was looking for a simple free MP3 file custom cutter, I found many; however, to my surprise, many of them are buggy. For example, MP3 Cutter Plus 1.0 produces an MP3 output that can be played by VLC media player but cannot be played by Windows Media Player! It looks like to me that Free MP3 Cutter does a nice job as far as cutting an MP3 file is concerned.

In a few clicks, one can select a part of a song (or audiobook, or any MP3 audio file),  and save the selection in a separate MP3 file. This is a real MP3 cutter, and not an MP3 splitter that allows you to split files either by custom bytes or by number of files. It takes ~ 10 MB of RAM when idle.

Pros

  • Simple utility
  • User-friendly interface
  • Works very fast
  • Allows you to play the desired piece before saving
  • Apparently, saves the file without re-encoding

Cons

  • Cutting the piece properly is not perfect, needs adjustment

Conclusion and Download Link

Unless I get to see a perfect MP3 cutter, this is a keeper for me. It does exactly what it is supposed to do; and therefore, I give it two thumbs up.
