[Android] Batch resize images and photos with JustResizeIt!

If there’s one feature that’s missing in today’s most widely used photo editing apps, it would definitely be the option to resize images and photos. Come to think of it, you can crop the photos that you want to upload to Facebook or Instagram but you can’t resize them according to the resolution that you want. Thankfully, there’s an app that is specifically designed to resize your photos. It’s called JustResizeIt! and you can download it for free at the Google Play Store.
JustResizeIt! is an advanced photo and image resizer for Android tablets and smartphones. It is currently available in two versions – the free version and the paid version. In this review, we will be reviewing the features of the free version. As I’ve already mentioned above, you can use this app to resize your images. You’re also free to set your own preferences – ex. resizing your images to fixed or relative resolution.
You also need to keep in mind that this app uses “widgets”. Widgets are like presets. Each widget has a pre-defined setting. It’s just that in the free version, users are only allowed to create one widget. If you want to create more widgets, you need to purchase the app’s paid version.
When using the app for the first time, you need to launch it from your app drawer. After that, you’ll need to create and customize your widget. You won’t be able to resize any photo if you don’t have a widget so you might as well create one. In the widget settings, you can set your preferred widget name, appearance, resize method (fixed, relative or original), image quality and sending options. Once you’re done, just press the “Save” button and then your newly created widget will automatically show up on the app’s home menu. The next thing that you should do is to add the images to the “Image Basket”. You can do this pressing the large “Plus” button or you can simply press the menu button then choose the option for “Add Image”. This option, however, will only allow you to add single images. If you want to add multiple images, I would suggest that you go to your photo gallery then “bulk select” the photos that you want to resize, click the “share” button then send your photos to JustResizeIt!. After that, tap on the widget of your choice and then the photos will be automatically re-sized and processed according to your pre-defined preferences.
It seems that JustResizeIt! has succeeded in proving something that’s extremely beneficial. It can’t edit your images with stylish effects but it can do something that’s apparently missing in today’s most commonly used photo editing apps. Through this app, you can easily resize your images to a fixed or relative resolution. So if you’re having trouble sending your 3264 x 2448 photos to your recipient, you can use this app.
Basically, this app has two ways of resizing your photos. The first one is through adjusting the photo’s width and height which is set in pixels while the second one is through percentage. Say for example, if you want to set your image to be 20 percent smaller than its original size, then you set the percentage bar to 20%.
Functionality wise, this application is very smooth, responsive and easy to use. It’s also very lightweight and it can process multiple images in just a matter of seconds. What I really like about this app is that can resize multiple images so it helps save a lot of time and effort. Aside from that, it can automatically email the re-sized photos to your recipients. It can also send the photos via FTP/FTPS. Just keep in mind that when using this option, you need to provide some important details such as your host and port. Nevertheless, this option is really great especially for users who would like to directly upload their photographs to their online gallery.
Another notable feature of this app is its widgets. Through the use of widgets, you can set different profiles or presets with pre-defined functions. So if you want to resize the photos in your image basket, just click the appropriate widget and that’s it. The only downside to using the free version is that you are only limited to creating one widget. So you still need to edit your widget from time to time. The option for creating multiple widgets is only available for paid users. Another downside of this app is that it only uses its own icons as widget decorations. Users aren’t allowed to customize their widget’s appearance by using their own photos as icons.
I like this app; I recommend it to anyone who’s looking for a fast and efficient way to resize their photos. There is the widget issue in the free version, but that isn’t a major let-down. So go ahead and check out JustResizeIt!
