For all those wanting to access your smartphone remotely, there is some good news for you. A start-up company from Kerala, Livares Technologies has come out with an application called as PhoneAway that lets you access your smartphone remotely. By using the application, users can access content in their phone from another phone or a PC.

Jaseel Abdul Rafeek, chief innovation officer, Livares Technologies (P) Ltd. said: “PhoneAway keeps you in touch with your phone even if it’s not in your hands.” The company is primarily based in Technopark here and Startup village, Kochi.

After installing the application, the user needs to register an alternate mobile number in the application which will be used to get details from the original phone. There is also an option to select mode of communication i.e. SMS, E-Mail or both to facilitate communication. After the installation is complete, the application will run in the background on the phone.

To activate the application, a user needs to give a specific number of missed-calls or send a specific SMS to the phone with a password for authentication. After this, internet connectivity will be switched on automatically and the communication can be done.

The key feature of the application is that users can fetch call logs to the new phone by a SMS or to their E-Mail address. Users can also search and find contacts stored in the phone.

Another important feature is the remote-ringer mode which can make the phone ring even when its in silent mode for those who misplace their phone often.

The application can also pin-point the phone’s location using the phone’s GPS and send it to the user to help locate the lost phone.

The application can be downloaded from Google Play Store for free. You can download the application from here.
