Whenever you install an app from Play Store on your device, the app may automatically add widgets at the home screen of your device. If you happen to install many apps in one go, then these auto widgets will make your home screen look dirty and untidy. In this guide, we will show you how to disable this automatic-adding-of-widgets functionality. Read on to learn more.
Before we begin
Before we begin, it is important to note that you must have the latest version of Google Play Store installed on your device to do the trick we mention in this guide. If you don’t have Play Store or are still on Android Market, then this trick won’t work for you.
How to stop Android apps from automatically placing widgets on your home screen

- Open Play Store.
- Go to Settings in Play Store.
- There you will ‘Auto-add widgets’ option which is checked by default. Uncheck the option:
- Exit out of Play Store — there is no need to hit any save button, settings are automatically saved.
