After a failed attempt, BlackBerry has launched a free application for BBM to iOS and Android in Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

It’s official, the Canadians from BlackBerry has finally released BlackBerry Messenger for users of other platforms than BlackBerry. It is available for iOS and Android, and if you not are reading this from a iDevice or a device with Google operating system, just search for BBM in the webshop of each platform to install the version that fits best.

To prevent problems from a few weeks ago when the network was very busy and the same applications have been withdrawn from the market, you have to keep in mind that there is a waiting list that you can subscribe to access the instant messaging service from Canadians. If when the Canadian giant announced it will launch a version of BBM for Android and iOS you have rushed to sign on the company’s website, it means that you are among the 6 million Internet users who did exactly the same and that already have access to the application.

If you are not among them, just download the application and at the first screen enter the email address you want to use as an account when the network will be free. Soon you will be contacted by email and you will be able to create an account. Apparently, there is a trick that can speed up the procedure to create an account, although I have not tested it yet. If you are burning with impatience, you can enter your email address in the first screen and in the next second to exit the application and close it from processes. Next time when you enter the program, you will be able to create your account.

According to BBM official account on Twitter, more than 10 million people have downloaded BBM to iOS and Android in just 24 hours after its launch, if not crazy enough, BBM is now the free no. 1 application in the App Store.

As mentioned by 9to5Mac, the number of downloads might be more than 10 million.  If you want to try the free messaging application provided by BlackBerry, it is available in the App Store [3] and Play Store [4]. There isn’t a big difference from the version that runs on BlackBerry.
