Creating an iTunes account for downloading apps or music requires a credit card. If you don’t want to use your credit card then follow these step-by-step instructions below on how to create an iTunes account without a credit card.

  • iTunes installed
  • Windows or Mac OS X machine

How to create an Apple ID/iTunes account without credit card

Step 1 : Download and install iTunes from Apple’s site. If you already have iTunes installed, skip this step.

Step 2 : Open iTunes and click on iTunes store located at top right of the window.

Step 4 : Scroll down to “Top free apps” located in the right column. Select any free app and download it (by clicking the “Free” button). Note: This step is important otherwise it wont work.

Step 5: A new window will pop up asking you to either sign in or create a new account. Click on “Create Apple ID”.

Step 6 : You will be redirected to a welcome page. Click “Continue”.

Step 7 : Now select your country from the list, tick “I have read and agreed to these terms and conditions” and click agree.

Step 8 : Fill in the form and provide the required details and click “Continue”.

Step 9 : This is the main step. Select “None” for the payment method. Fill in the billing address required and once done , click “Create Apple ID”.

Step 10 : You will receive a verification email on the email address you entered. Open the email and click on “Verify now” to activate your iTunes account.
