Clients like these exist everywhere. They are very unfair in their ways, and if you’re not smart enough, they will trick you good. I’ve never worked in tech support before, but I’ve witnessed similar incidents.

    One of my professors had a standard answer for situations like this. “OK, remember me when you want it fixed.” Usually someone will ask if he doesn’t want to make a lower offer/match the price, etc. to that he says “I don’t play lowball with prices.”

    He says it’s amazing how many people will remember that when they have problems and figure he must be the one to get. After all, he predicted there would be problems going with the other person. =)
