How to root Samsung Galaxy S4 on Android 4.4.2 KitKat (SPH-L720, Sprint) [Guide]

The Sprint Galaxy S4 has just been updated to Android 4.4.2 KitKat via the L720TVPUBNAF firmware update. If you happen to own one of these, and are now looking to root your device after updating it to official Kit Kat, here’s a step by step guide which will walk you through the process.

This guide is intended for the T-Mobile branded version of the Samsung Galaxy S4, model number SPH-L720, running the official Android 4.4.2 KitKat firmware L720TVPUBNAF from Sprint. Please do not try it with other carrier branded or unlocked variants of the Galaxy Note 3. You can check your device model number by going to Settings > About Device on your phone, or by checking the labels on the packaging box.
