Requirements

This root guide is for the ZTE V967S running Android 4.2. It is specifically for the ZTE V967S.

Take note this will void the warranty of your device. Proceed at your own risk.

Before We Begin

You’ll need to download the root package to your Windows PC. Do this by following this link.

Drivers are required for this rooting process. Download and install the Universal ADB driver to your Windows PC by following this link. If the universal ADB driver does not work for you, check out these other drivers here.

You’ll need a micro USB cable.

USB debugging will need to be enabled. It can be enabled by going into settings, then about phone, finding the build number and tapping on it 7 times till the message ‘you are now a developer’ has appeared. When you’ve seen this message, go back to settings and find developer options.   Inside developer options, select the USB debugging box to enable it.

How To Root Device

Connect your V967S to your PC using your micro USB cable. Once connected, allow the USB debugging connection.

Create a folder called Android-root on your desktop and extract the root package MT6589-Root.zip that you downloaded earlier into it.

Inside the Android-root folder, find run.bat and execute it. After executing it, press a key on your keyboard. This will start up the rooting. Follow the instructions on screen in run.bat to help you through the root process.

After a while, your phone will restart. Once it does, your device has root!
