dotTech Exclusive: Free Wondershare DVD Ripper Platinum! (Promotion open for 24 hours only so hurry!)

Update: This promo has now ended.

Wondershare DVD Ripper Platinum is a professional DVD ripping tool that allows users to rip their DVDs (including most, if not all, DRM protected DVDs) and convert them into various different video formats (including .VOB for lossless storage.) Here are key features of Wondershare DVD Ripper Platinum as per the developer:

(Click on image to view key features in full size.)

In particular you may want to note the video editing capabilities included in Wondershare DVD Ripper Platinum… editing capabilities that most other DVD rippers do not have.

Here is a table that details all supported input and output formats/profiles (and specifies the specific electronic devices supported by Wondershare DVD Ripper Platinum):

(Click on image to view table in full size.)

Take note that iPad support was just recently added to Wondershare DVD Ripper Platinum so the tables and key features list have not been updated yet to list iPad as being supported. However, the iPad is supported.

For a limited time – from 00:30 PST (Pacific Standard Time) May 18, 2010 to 00:30 PST (Pacific Standard Time) May 19, 2010 – dotTech is teaming up with Wondershare Software to bring dotTechies the chance to get Wondershare DVD Ripper Platinum ($39.95 value) for free! This promotion will only be live for 24 hours, so you must grab the registration information during this time, but you may install the program at any time afterward.

To get Wondershare DVD Ripper Platinum for free, follow these simple directions:

Version being given out for free: v4.4.2

Free updates: Yes, free lifetime updates

Supported OS: Windows NT4/2000/2003/XP/Vista/Win7

Extra note: Wondershare is generously offering free lifetime technical support to all participants of this promotion.

Note: This promotion is available to everyone – everyone may get it for free. However, this is a dotTech.org promotion. Please do not copy, paste, or reprint this registration page link anywhere else including private or public forums, blogs, file hosting services, etc. If you want to spread information about this offer, you may link to this article by providing a permalink (alternative permalink) to your audience. • After you have filled out the form, check the inbox of the e-mail address you received. There should be an e-mail from “Wondershare (claire.lee [at] wondershare.com)” with the subject of “Thanks for choosing Wondershare DVD Ripper Platinum”. In the e-mail you will find your registration information:

Update: Many people are having trouble getting the registration code. I don’t know why but it seems like some e-mail addresses are not receiving the e-mail with the registration code. If you register with an e-mail address and don’t get the code instantly, please register with a different e-mail address – this promotion is working, there just seems to be a problem with some e-mail addresses. I know for sure that Hotmail, Gmail, and TrashMail e-mail addresses are receiving the codes (I tested it with those e-mail addresses myself). If you are still unable to get the registration code e-mail, please clear your browser’s cache and try again, or try using a different browser. I have contacted Wondershare about the issue and hopefully we can get it resolved. I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

Update2: Anyone that had problems getting the registration information can e-mail Claire at claire.lee [at] wondershare.com and request the registration information (mention that you tried to get it via dotTech’s recent promotion but you didn’t get the registration information).

Many thanks for your unflagging efforts.
    Thank you.
    Okey ?ndir…

  • @Paul: In case you missed it above, in the main article:

If you tried and didn’t receive a reg. code, email Wondershare directly to get the reg. info.  The info. is in the article.

  • Paul

Thanks, Ashraf.  I registered on the site during the promotion period but, unfortunately, I still haven’t received anything from Wondershare. Any idea how long it takes to get the code?  thx

  • Thanks Ashraf!
Don’t know how you keep doing it!

  • Mike

In case you missed it above, in the main article:

If you tried and didn’t receive a reg. code, email Wondershare directly to get the reg. info.  The info. is in the article.

  • Grr

@Ashraf: Welcome Ashraf. Copying is bad. This is dottech exclusive.
Good that other Admin removed it.
1 more thing, i tried 3 different emails, but the serial is same.

  • Don

I tried 3 different times and 3 different emails yesterday with no response, even though I got a message that the registration was successful. ;>(

  • ww1

    treied…

  • WW

    I have tried 2 emails (2  another), with 2 browsers (IE,FF) and nothing     :(

  • witwas

    Thanks for the offer.

  • jumbi

have tried 3 emails (2 gmails+another), with 3 browsers (FF, IE, ,Opera) and finally got them :-)

  • Rene

On my gmail address it arrived after the second try.

    Thanks for the offer.

  • OldElmerFudd

The reg info finally came through on Gmail after five attempts. Haven’t checked the fifth try on my ISP account. Installed and registered without a hitch; this will be interesting to try out when the need arises.
Many thanks for your unflagging efforts, Ashraf.

  • Havilson

@Ashraf: I used my Gmail account and received nothing.

  • Grantwhy

I registered about a 90 minutes ago (on a hotmail and a gmail account) and nothing came through (tried with both FireFox portable and IE 8).
I tried again about 45 minutes ago with the *same* email accounts and the registration details came through straight away (although hotmail did put the email in the junk folder :-p).
I suggest that if anyone has tried to register and got no email, keep trying.

  • Franj

I tried 8 times, with 4 different email addresses. The last times I held the Control button while submitting my addy; it went through. Just keep hitting this button.

  • Mike

Thanks for speaking with Wondershare about the registration issue, Ashraf.

Very odd indeed.  For me, a yahoo email address didn’t work at first (altho I received an email later in the day, many hours later), but a gmail address worked; for other people, the opposite.  Something very weird indeed must be happening with the Wondershare computers …

  • harrrrrrr

OK… finally got this to work.  Yes, cleared my ie browser cookies, etc then used my gmail address… worked.  Had tried many times with 4 different accts on both ie and ffox… clearing the browser seems to be the trick.   Received reply almost instantly. Thanks Ashraf and, of course, Wondershare.

  • Ashraf

I just talked to Claire, and Wondershare cannot extend this promotion. However, anyone that had problems getting the registration information can e-mail Claire at claire.lee [at] wondershare.com and request the registration information (mention that you tried to get it via dotTech’s recent promotion but you didn’t get the registration information).

  • willyneu

I just submitted info & registration came through right away.

  • Ashraf

@willyneu: I would try again with a different e-mail address.

  • Ashraf

@James: I agree WinX DVD Ripper Platinum is really good (read my review at http://dottech.org/commercial-software-reviews/12404) but that article by CNET is fail. Firstly it claims “From a feature standpoint, the two programs are pretty similar.” Yes, they are similar in terms of being able to rip DVDs to many output formats and support for multiple electronic devices, but Wondershare DVD Ripper Platinum has editing features that WinX DVD Ripper Platinum does not have – this is key to note. Secondly, the writer does not mention computer resource usage; from the sound of his article I am thinking Wondershare DVD Ripper Platinum could have been using less cores of the author’s CPU (hence why it took almost twice the time to rip a DVD) vs. WinX DVD Ripper Platinum, but we won’t know for sure because the writer never mentioned it. The only real valid point the author brings up is the fact that WinX DVD Ripper Platinum is $10 cheaper.

Now I am not saying Wondershare DVD Ripper Platinum > WinX DVD Ripper Platinum or WinX DVD Ripper Platinum > Wondershare DVD Ripper Platinum. I am just saying that article is not a good article to base your judgment off of. I would myself compare the two but I can’t find my Jurassic Park DVD…

  • willyneu

I downloaded & installed program this morning & sent my email address, etc. but have not received registration so far.

  • James

Personally I perfer to use Winx DVD Ripper Platinum which was cost of free on GOTD in March. Take a look at the review for Winx and Wondershare on CNET, you will find the truth.

  • Bruce Fraser

    @Bruce Fraser:
    EXTRA!!
I used yet one more email address, this one goes directly to our Internet Service Provider. This one worked.
Best wishes to everyone else who is having trouble.

  • Bruce Fraser

    @Ashraf: 10:43 pm EST.
Just re-submitted my email addresses on the Wondershare site.
Still nothing at either “Yahoo.ca” or “Gmail.com” emails; neither in the regular inbox, nor in the spam box.

  • Ashraf

@Pegi: I don’t think so. I used Firefox and Gmail and it worked. I am starting to think the issue is server side vs. user side (i.e. Wondershare’s script is bugged).

  • Pegi

Firefox submission didn’t work with gmail even though it said that I submitted the form ok, but when I rendered the forms page in ie I received the registration code right away…so a firefox issue?

  • Ashraf

@Trev: Yeah I am going to see if we can extend this promotion because of the problems. (Wondershare is based in China so there is a large lead time in response.)

  • Trev

Wouldnt work Gmail or Hotmail, and not in spam,
untill I cleared my browser’s cookies as Ashraf suggested.

  • Shueygal

After repeated attempts to obtain reg. info, it finally worked. Was using multiple accounts with no success, but it finally worked with gmail.[tried it earlier x3, but it worked the 4th time]
    Thanks Ashraf.

  • OldElmerFudd

Nothing so far. Tried four times with two different accounts, checking spam folders, etc. I’ll give it another shot during the evening. If it doesn’t come through…well, I didn’t have it before so I won’t lose anything. 8-)

  • Francois

I had the same problem until I filled the adress simply with dvdripper@wondershare.com which was instantly accepted!

  • Mags

    @JohnD:

I was using the registration email address, but didn’t work, tried again later and it worked.  Don’t know why it didn’t the first few tries, but I finally got it registered.

  • Thamza

Thank you very much Ashraf for bringing this great giveaway to us.

  • PCbasics

    Thanks….received the key after 4 tries…..

  • This code does not work on any of my computers.

  • Witold Wasyliszyn

    Thanks for this giveaway.

  • townie2

strange. my first try was with my hotmail account, and nothing. my second try was with my ISP email account. nothing in either. what really worries me, is that the clock it ticking down on this offer. nearly 5 hours since trying with hotmail account.

*just tried again with my hotmail account, and this time it worked! thanks Ashraf.

  • KiwisKnow

I tried a second gmail account after the first delivery failed. Success.

  • Corno

I tried to get a license also for my wife’s computer and now I don’t receive anything, whatever I try (Gmail or otherwise). I deleted all cookies, and changed my IP, just in case, but nothing helped.
Well, I got one anyway. Thanks.

  • Ashraf

@Chuck Wilsker: As far as I know, Norton is wrong. Wondershare is a multi-million dollar software publishing company – I highly, highly doubt their software would include viruses. Plus, SiteAdvisor and WOT (services that have a better track record for rating other websites vs. Norton) give the website a clean bill of health and I scanned Wondershare DVD Ripper Platinum and it is malware free.

    Hope that helps.

  • JohnD

@Mags: My email from Wondershare had it’s own “registration email address” with the registration code that I used successfully.  Are you using this one or your personal email address?

  • Ashraf

@Grr: Thank you Grr. I have removed the link so that website does not get traffic from dotTech thanks to their theft.

  • Grr

    Thanks Ashraf.

Somebody is using the credit here in their own name:
[Removed. Message from Ashraf: Thanks Grr, I asked that admin to take it down. I have removed this link so that website does not get traffic from dotTech just because they stole our promotion.]

  • Ashraf

@Wayne: Well, I suppose the ends justify the means then – I am glad it worked for you!

  • Wayne

Thanks Ashraf for this offer. Registration didn’t work using my gmail (not even in the spam folder) and ymail but I had success with my regular yahoo.com account.

  • Ashraf

@Bruce Fraser: Check your Gmail spam folder – Gmail is getting the e-mails just fine.

  • Janniegunn

    Got it at gmail, THANKS!

  • Bruce Fraser

Fail with “yahoo.ca” email address, after trying several times over several hours.

Just tried “gmail.com” address, and no response within three minutes.

Will try again later this evening.

  • Ashraf

@Everyone: I don’t know why but it seems like some e-mail addresses are not receiving the e-mail with the registration code. I have contacted Wondershare about the issue and hopefully we can get it resolved.

    I apologize for the issue.

  • Janniegunn

Haven’t gotten the code yet.  how long should it take?

  • townie2

tried my second email account, still no code sent.

  • Corno

    Beautiful offer, thanks.

  • John

Tried twice, no reg code sent.

    I checked spam folder, fwiw

  • dvd787

still no registration code yet… can you help?

  • NOKNOT

    Thanks for this giveaway.

  • dan

I received their code almost immediately, unfortunately it didn’t work ?!
    Dan

  • Clodmore

Thanks, Ashraf, for this great gift!
I don’t rip DVDs often, but this will be great.
I had to try a number of different email addresses, but finally got a registration code.  I wonder why the one that I finally used worked.  8-)
    Again, many thanks!

  • Len

    Hello,
I also have tried two different email addresses and have not gotten anything in either address.  Please help to get the registration code.
    Thanks.

  • tim

    Hello,

I also have tried two different email addresses and have not gotten anything in either address.  Any help in this matter would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

  • townie2

same problem here, no registration number email after 2+ hours of waiting.

  • RH

For those that are still waiting for the confirmation email … I was waiting too, over 3 hours.  Then I tried another email address and it came literally within *seconds*.  So if you can, try a different email address.  Good Luck!

Oh yeah…and Ashraf…thanks for this great freebie!

  • Rocco

Hi!  Thanks for the great freebie, but I did not receive an email.  Since the first didn’t work I tried on a second (different) e-mail account and that didn’t work either.

  • Youngatheart1946

    G’Day Ashraf,
thanks for a great giveaway (once again). Applied for and got registration code in my email inbox almost instantaneously (in Australia). Keep up the much appreciated GREAT WORK and have a wonderful holiday Mate, you certainly deserve it for all your effort here. I look forward to seeing you back here all bright eyed and bushy tailed.
    Sincerely Yours
    Youngatheart1946

  • Mags

    Well, this is getting frustrating!

As mentioned above I did get the registration code.  However, it won’t register!   I keep getting email addresses or code invalid.  I’ve triple checked, and even did a copy/paste.  Still nothing.

Went to support site and tried to get code through entering email addy.  Got message that email is invalid.  Sent email to support, but could be 48 hours before they get back to me.

Anyone else experiencing the same problem?

  • Shueygal

Sorry to say Ashraf, but I have to join the others in the lament….not email.  Tried a second time with a different email address, and still no luck.  Thanks for all your help, and hope that this is rectified, as I would really like to have this program.

  • JohnD

I have really been waiting for this one.  No registration code on my first attempt, maybe because I got a freebie with that address before?  Read Mags #38 post and tried my gmail account and had a registration code within moments.
    Thanks once again Ashraf.

  • tekknokat

Thank  you so much for this giveaway.  Never have I gotten one with free updates for life, and support, what a deal!  You are the man Ashraf!  Thanks Again!!

  • Mags

Well, after 2 1/2 hrs still no registration code.

Tried a different email addy and viola got the registration code.

    Thx Ashraf.

  • Gil

    Thank you Mr. “A”.

Another great piece of software to add to my library. Installation was a snap because, as usual, your instructions are crystal clear. I’ve used the software to test it out and it’s slick as a whistle.

Keep up the good work…..we’re going to  miss you while you’re on vacation.

  • Mohamed Hassan

thank you very much ashraf i got the key

  • Mike

    Getting registration codes/issues:

Don’t know if this will help anyone else, but when I didn’t receive the registration/license code to my regular email address, I used a new email account and it came immediately.  Could it be that I had registered with Wondershare once before (a GOTD offer) with my regular email address?

    Just something to try.

  • jumbi

    thanksssssss

Oupss, the promo page doesn’t work right now…
    I will try again later…

  • Emil

    Hi,
I’ve got the same problem. Registration submitted fine but no response in my inbox, nothing in Spam. Any suggestions or is Wondershare experiencing a glitch or are too busy.
    Thanks

  • roger

Hi ;o) thanks, nice giveaway ;o) I’ve seen this on a public blog, have you give your consent for? (http://freewares-tutos.blogspot.com/). Best regards

  • Steve

Thanks for the giveaway.  However, one small problem.  I submitted my registration info and received the “registration submission received” message, but so far nothing has come to my inbox.  I also checked the junk mail file.  Can I get some assistance please.

This is a great app, and I would sure love to have the registered version.

    Thanks again for the giveaway.

  • Doru

Upc SmartGuard it say that version portable is infected, also Win X  Dvd to ipad ripper.Ended is working  heuristic.Maybe is  false pozitive.

  • greg

Waited 2 hours and sent again, still nothing.  6:45 AM PST, no codes.

  • KiwisKnow

Ditto on lack of email reply to registration. Spam folder is empty. I’m thinking that Wondershare has a hiccup.

  • Pat

After filling out the form at http://www.dvd-ripper-copy.com/dvd-ripper-platinum-discount.html I do not receive the email with the registration code.  It is not in the inbox or junk/spam folder.  After filling out the form it states that “The registration code has been submitted successfully.” but I do not receive the email.

  • Lee

    Good Morning…
I have the same problem as others; no info in my e-mail inbox.  Any suggestions?

  • Mags

I also haven’t received a registration code, and have checked my spam email.

  • Anat

    Got it!!!
    Thanks again.

  • Bennet

    Hi Ashraf,
I registered with my mail id. But still didn’t get any reply from them for the past 2 hours. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  • Anat

    Hi Ashraf,
Although I got the message “the registration code was submitted succesufuly” I have’nt receive any e-mail with registration code   in my inbox or my spam box. Can you help me with that?
    Thanks a lot,
    Anat

  • 3K3

    @Ashraf:
    As an info
Some virus scanners identifie virtualized and compressed exe files as a virus. But nobody needs to worry. They are false positives. My  packages don’t contain any viruses.

    ..and you’re welcome

  • Inas

It worked fine (the download, registration, etc.) – but a rather odd thing (in my opinion, anyway) is that the Wondershare folks assigned their own registration emaill to me, even though I supplied them with my email address – very weird – but, that’s okay – it’ll do :)

  • Ashraf

    @Jabtano: You are welcome =).

    @Farrukh: You are welcome =).

@jSwann0: I don’t speak French but I think the proper response to your comment would be: you are welcome =).

    @e.g: You are welcome =).

@Doru: Cool; glad to see it works.

@3K3: I ran your file through VirusTotal – it seems to be clean (39/42 AVs showed it as clean). Thanks for it.

@moe-chan: Yep, that is what I was told by my contact in Wondershare; I was given a “guarantee” that dotTechies would receive free lifetime upgrades and tech support. You are welcome!

  • moe-chan

    Including Free Lifetime updates?
Wow! This means better than GOTD Promotion.
Thank you, Ashraf! Jazakallahu khairan katsira!
