Discussion

BlendPicXPhotoXEditingXAppXforXAndroidAs I’ve already mentioned, BlendPic isn’t like your usual photo editing app as it doesn’t offer the regular set of photo effects and filters. Instead, it allows you to combine your photo with another photo to create a double exposure image. By default, the app uses presets to create a double exposure photo. These presets vary so you just have to choose the one that best matches your image.

To use BlendPic, you simply start by using one of your existing photos or you can opt to take a new photo using your smartphone or tablet.

After that, you get to choose at least one photo from the app’s double exposure material list and it will be automatically fused or blended together with your original photo. This apparently creates a marvelous double exposure photo that you can further enhance by using various blend styles and linear gradients. You can also adjust the transparency of the effect.

If you run out of choices, the app also provides additional materials that you can download right then and there. Just keep in mind that if you are editing photos using this app, then you cannot keep your photo’s original size because it will be cropped to square. You cannot also add subtle texts and borders.

Anyways, once you’re done editing the photo, you can immediately upload it to your Instagram account. You can also share it to your friends on Facebook, Twitter, etc.

Concept wise, I like how this app deviates from normal. It’s actually very challenging to create an artistic double exposure photo so you really have to let your creative juices flow. Nevertheless, this is what sets the app apart from the rest. Functionality wise, the app performs well without any disturbing glitches or errors. It’s also stable and responsive. It’s just that there’s no way for you to opt and pay for an ad-free version.

All in all, what I like most about BlendPic is that it offers a wide range of materials that you can use to blend two or more photos together. I also like the quality of its photo overlays, blend styles and even its linear gradients. With this app, you can play around with every element that exists in your photos. It’s very well suited for creative artists and aspiring photographers.
