How to switch tabs using simple mouse gestures in Firefox [Tip]

TabFlip is a Firefox extension that lets you flip through your open page tabs like pages of a book. With this extension you can open page tabs without selecting them on the tab bar. Instead you press the right mouse button and drag to the right or left to open the next tab.

Add TabFlip to the browser from this page. There click on the + Add to Firefox and Install Now buttons, and open a few website pages. Then hold the right mouse button and drag the mouse to the right or left to open another page tab.

The add-on also has a few customization options. Click Open menu > Add-ons and Extensions. Then scroll to TabFlip and press the Options button to open the page in the shot below.

When reaching the end of the tab bar, you can also flip to the other end. However, you must select the Wrap check box first. Then you can open the page tab on the far left upon reaching the end of the tab bar.

Also select the New and Close Tab option. Select that option so that you can close tabs and open new ones. To close a tab, hold the right mouse button and drag down. Hold the right mouse button and drag up to open new page tabs.

With this add-on you now can flick through your Firefox page tabs more quickly. Note that TabFlip is compatible with the Tree Style Tab add-on. It also modifies when the context menu appears on Macs.
