    Hello Donald,

    you will get the serial number only, when installing the program from the right setup file. Why ever the website dottech you mentioned provided the link without setup file. So it seems that just offered that version without trying what they wrote. It’s definetly not possible to take the shareware version in combination with the key you get.
    We can offer an older version:

    http://hdlroot01.ashampoo.com/support/ash/ashampoo_burning_studio_2010_advanced_9.24_7182.exe

    Please remove the old version before you install this newer version.
    Thank you very much.

    Dear :Kay Hasbargen:

    Tried your suggestion…no results. Server not found.

    Doesn’t Ashampoo.com have an alternate site for downloads and updates to it’s products. I have a legit serial number and user account, so
    what next?

    Thanks, Donald Bock

    Ashampoo Burning Studio 2010 Advanced will not work unless the “server” service is turned on. I have mine turned off as a security measure. (I don’t need it on since I don’t have to share files with anyone). Ashampoo said that a future version of Burning Studio won’t require the server service to be on.

    @Ashraf:

    Thank you…..

    I downloaded Burning studio . However, I tried to get the registration number before installing the Burning studio by clicking on the links you have above:

    When I click on “click here” for the registration page a blank page opens up with no info inside.
    Is there something wrong with the registration page link that is shown above?

    thank you

    ( thank you for all of the effort you put into your website…….it is greatly appreciated!! )

    Hi Ashraf,
    This promotion is already live on http://www.computerbild.de for last 2 weeks! Its only now that http://www.chip.de is playing catch-up.
    Also note that, I believe, http://www.computerbild.de does not require you to create an account, unlike http://www.chip.de.
    You may remember, the same version was given away on http://v3.co.uk a few months back too. I got it then.
    Now, as Ashampoo Burning Studio 10 has come, I think we will also get a version 10.x as an update for Ashampoo Burning Studio 2010 Advanced in the future. I think it will be worth waiting, because according to Ashampoo, v10 has an improved ‘burning engine’. I wonder what difference that will make, but it will be an improvement for sure, I guess.
    What do you think? Please let me know. Thanks.

    @Paul:
    @Jamster MC:
    It sounds like you are looking for this:
    http://www.freemake.com/free_video_converter/
    Nice and easy converter. It needs .net 4 framework (automatically downloaded if not installed), but has some really nice features that I would not expect in a freeware program!

    @Ashraf: Maybe take a look at the programs freemake.com is offering. They seem to be quite sexy! Only thing I am missing is mkv output, but other than this, very user friendly!

  6. Paul

    I have used their software before but need some help  with this version. I am looking to  burn Flip Share MP4  files that I have on my desktop and need to know  which option(s) on the software program do I use (first screen and subsequesnt screen(s) so  these MP4  movie clips can be burned on ont my computer’s DVD burner and then  watched on a DVD player?

    Thank you.

  7. DuanePDX

    I tried doing a big backup to my new Blu-ray disc writer.  It took a long time and when it finished verifying, it said there were errors, but wasn’t specific.  When I looked at the disc with Windows Explorer, I found proprietary files that couldn’t be opened even by Ashampoo’s program.

    I was looking for a file backup program that can span more than one output disc.  I don’t think this is it.

    Any other suggestions?

  8. unicorn02

    @Mario: The free versions of Burning Studio mainly miss the video editing features and maybe some templates in the cover designer of the full versions.
    But other than this they offer the full blown burning experience, thats why we like it so much! However the free versions are only available through chip.de and computerbild.de and are not available on the ashampoo.com website. So, you probably bought the full product and therefore are more feature complete.

  9. Mario

    Hi Ashraf, too many doubts by everybody too little time to answer all of them. Anyway, if you have any clue about all these versions Ashampoo ALWAYS has around, please enrich us! Ashampoo’s site not even mentions this Advanced product. I have ABS2010 v 10.0.3. Although this is not the “Advanced”, still its version v9.24 is lower so all I could guess is that the one I have is newer, better and more complete, correct?
    thanks in advance
    mario

  10. Bob Hewlett

    Per the Chip.de site (Google translation):
    Compared to “Ashampoo Burning Studio 10″ offers the full version license offered here, “Ashampoo Burning Studio 2010″ no support for creating video DVDs. Furthermore, no slideshow editor is available.

  11. RobCr

    @DuanePDX:
    It appears to offer many functions.However I would only have the need to translate a whole web page.
    With Hyperwords, you have to work out which chunk of text that you need to translate (‘Catch 22′), then select that text,.
    Then choose Translate from Hyperwords menu.

    Whereas with gTranslator there is no ‘Catch 22′.
    Just one click translates everything.

  12. RobCr

    @Karen Stimson:
    If you have an aversion to Toolbars (such as the Google Toolbar), there is an extension for Firefox called gTranslator.
    I have it, and all there is, is a tiny icon on the bottom right of the status bar, which you click to translate the web page.
    It uses Google’s translate, without the baggage of a Toolbar.

  13. DuanePDX

    Ashraf,

    I just bought an external Blu-ray burner so I could make high-def slideshows of my photos, and to be able to backup my photos.

    The burner is great but the included software is Just Awful.

    I remembered that the Power2Go software included with my HP desktop had an icon for creating Blu-ray data disks.  When I clicked on it, it asked me to spend $70 to upgrade it so the icon would do something.

    I checked here and found this program.  It seems very well designed and logical.  So many backup programs can’t handle spanned output volumes.  Ridiculous!

    Thanks for the excellent instructions.  The Hyperwords add-on to Firefox does a great job of translating, but your step-by-step instructions saved a lot of time.

    Thanks again for the excellent job!

    Thanks Ashraf (and Sascha) for this opportunity. And thanks for the detailed instructions. After logging in on my Ashampoo account (I am an Ashampoo customer),I directly got two e-mails in my postbox: 1. an e-mail with the confirmation link, which I did not have to use, and 2. an e-mail with the license key (Freischaltcode). I could even change the language in this program in my mother language Dutch via Settings > Languages. Great!
    I wil use this burning program on an old pc. It wil replace Nero 6, that gave me a lot of trouble.

  15. Karen Stimson

    I ended up uninstalling the software without even trying it. When my password was rejected I was redirected to a page all in German, with no understandable links to re-register. If the vendor wants US customers they should have a site in English, sorry! It’s not worth my time having to find a translator.

  16. Clodmore

    Hi Ashraff.  Thanks for passing this information and the detailed instructions on obtaining this version.  I have been a paid user of this product for a year or two, but hadn’t unpgraded to version 10 yet.  I was waiting for one of their $10 sales.  I missed their last one.  This will do me fine for quite awhile.

    Thanks!

  17. OldElmerFudd

    Greetings, Ashraf! (And thanks, too, Sascha) It’s always nice to see another freebie Burning Studio version out of Ashampoo. I’ve been a fan since version 7 or 8 – can’t really recall – and currently use v.10. Fast, easy to use, and a lot smaller footprint than Nero, which I gave up on after v.6.6. I’ll park this one for installation where I need it, which is bound to happen eventually!
