I gave this a try, even the newer demo version & it’s okay, but not great. I’ve tried many notes programs of late & finally settled on the free version of TreeDB Notes, which has WAY MORE FEATURES as a free version than this program. It’s also got many more add ons, which may get me to one day pay for the full program. All My Notes is in early developement, the developer has been very nice and replies promptly. I’d like to support his program, but it’s just not as developed as others yet & also too expensive IMO for what it presently is. TreeDB is small, fast, full featured (even in the free Lite version) & has many add ons. Evernote is also very good, but a largeer program.

I was using AllMyNotes Organizer version 2.24, but I switched to minipad2- http://www.nebulasoft.cn/minipad2/minipad2_en.html , a much lighter, much better, much powerful, much flexible, portable application, supporting templates, clipboard monitoring, favourites, lock, password protection, pin to desktop, transparency, clickable hyperlinks, search, import/export, minimization to tray, auto-back-up, recycle bin, dictionaries, launcher, etc. A free tiny outliner very rich of options and very lean of resource usage and its GUI is good enough to need skins. In fact quality is not skinnable. Personally I don’t like AllMyNotes Organizer’s GUI with its big, kitschy icons.

@Carolyn Lillie i have 1.35 too but i just installed 1.37 without uninstalling the previous version and it worked. my data remained intact. what changed was the reg information after i keyed in my user name, email and 1.37 activation code.

just a short question before I download and try (thanks in advance):

Can it be combined with Dropbox?
For example, can the notes be saved to a sub-directory into dropbox folder and thus automatically synced from different computers?

Thanks for such useful Freebie. Unfortunately, it is not Unicode supported, as I also take notes in Urdu (Arabic Script Unicode).

BTW, I’m also using KeyNote (http://code.google.com/p/keynote-nf/).

Its a very good alternative to many notes taking tools and does support Unicode + Tabbed based interface

I love note-taking programs.
Currently I extensively use Evernote 2, TreeDB Notes and OneNote. For quick and short info-taking, I use the portable Scrapbook which starts up instantly and uses an index-card system.
My dream note-taking program would be something that is really fast to startup, automatically saves info to one database without prompting for file and header names, combines a tree-structure and index-card design, and allow the user to view at a glance, many notes organized in rows-by-columns-boxes in a page, just like how you would view post-it-notes on a bulletin board.
