please show my coment

hello,
thanking you for the givingaway. Please count me in this giveaway of dotTech Promo: 15 free licenses of Paragon Backup & Recovery 10 Suite! I want only one license.
I always never win anything at your blog, I don't know. I hope to win now.
I post a comment below and I post answers to the following questions:

Do you backup your files? If yes, how regularly? (I.E. Hourly, daily, monthly, weekly, once in a blue moon, when you feel like it, etc.)
daily i copy to my drive.
What types of files do you primarily need to backup? (I.E. Backing up personal files, work files, school files, documents, programs, etc.)
whatever new I have got in the day I copy to my backup everyday
If you were looking to purchase a backup/recovery program, what are the three top features you would look for?
cheap, support from the software and work on XP easily.
Based on the features Paragon Backup & Recovery 10 Suite has (refer to the fact sheet for detailed list of all features), would you pay $49.95 to purchase it? If no, please state the price you would be willing to pay.
Yes, can you give Thanksgiving discount, everyone is giving now.
(Optional) Please provide any other feedback you may have for Paragon Software.
no, thanks you.

Please count me in.

Regards,
Mr. G.T.

I'm hoping I may get one of your discretionary awards, for suggesting "dotTech Freebies". Whether I do or not, I must say I was THRILLED to see that you liked the suggestion. Thanks! Anyway, here are my answers to the questions:

        * Do you backup your files?

Not nearly as often as I should (just had my main laptop die - hopefully repairable, but maybe not. Meanwhile EVERYTHING is on there and most of it is not backed up)

If yes, how regularly? (I.E. Hourly, daily, monthly, weekly, once in a blue moon, when you feel like it, etc.)

once in a blue moon.

        * What types of files do you primarily need to backup? (I.E. Backing up personal files, work files, school files, documents, programs, etc.)

Personal, music, photos, business docs, some programs, downloads, zips, finances.

        * If you were looking to purchase a backup/recovery program, what are the three top features you would look for?

Free - Easy to understand - Easy to execute - intuitive.

        * Based on the features Paragon Backup & Recovery 10 Suite has (refer to the fact sheet for detailed list of all features), would you pay $49.95 to purchase it? If no, please state the price you would be willing to pay.

No - I have no money and no income - if I were buying one commercially, for a company I worked at, I'd certainly consider Paragon as a top contender. $50 is okay - $30 would be better.

        * (Optional) Please provide any other feedback you may have for Paragon Software.

Keep up the great work!

Q's and A's:
* Do you backup your files? If yes, how regularly? (I.E. Hourly, daily, monthly, weekly, once in a blue moon, when you feel like it, etc.)
- I would say monthly right after purchasing an external hard drive.
        * What types of files do you primarily need to backup? (I.E. Backing up personal files, work files, school files, documents, programs, etc.)
- The whole OS partition, I would often try to experiment... There's no telling whether I'd suddenly have a crash.
        * If you were looking to purchase a backup/recovery program, what are the three top features you would look for?
- I'd say ease of use, ability to backup the whole drive and be able to boot that, lastly, ability to be portable.
        * Based on the features Paragon Backup & Recovery 10 Suite has (refer to the fact sheet for detailed list of all features), would you pay $49.95 to purchase it? If no, please state the price you would be willing to pay.

        * (Optional) Please provide any other feedback you may have for Paragon Software.
- I just got an external hard drive so I've just started finding a backup program. I know your products rock!

* Do you backup your files? If yes, how regularly? (I.E. Hourly, daily, monthly, weekly, once in a blue moon, when you feel like it, etc.)

I usually make a disk image once in a while, after significant changes to the system disk.
I make selective backups of specific data (personal files, photos, music) at different rythms (at least once a month, after a major influx of new files, ...). For these backups, I do not use a backup software : I want to keep the data accessible without any reader software, in order to keep an access from other computers.

        * What types of files do you primarily need to backup? (I.E. Backing up personal files, work files, school files, documents, programs, etc.)

Personal files (photos, documents)
Technical data (work, computer or activity related)
Programs, tools (if downloaded), CD images (if physical format)

        * If you were looking to purchase a backup/recovery program, what are the three top features you would look for?

Disk imaging, from bootable CD/USB
Image mounting for partial recovery
Programmable file backup : every X, with ability to maintain directory hierarchy, ability to specify a destination destination directory with date suffix (to maintain several backup at different dates)

        * Based on the features Paragon Backup & Recovery 10 Suite has (refer to the fact sheet for detailed list of all features), would you pay $49.95 to purchase it? If no, please state the price you would be willing to pay.

This price has been typical for this kind of software for years (apart from promotion). I wouldn't mind paying this price for a reliable software. But I actually waited for promotions every time I bought one.
Compared to Acronis True Image, the set of features included looks better. Notably since Acronis has now moved the WinPE capability into an expensive plugin.

        * (Optional) Please provide any other feedback you may have for Paragon Software.

I've used Drive Backup 8.5 from an old magazine promotion. It was as an efficient tool to backup partitions in order to resize them or transfer them to another disk. The only issue I had when I bought a new computer was that I couldn't use the Linux bootable CD as it didn't recognize the SATA controller.
The WinPE option looks promising. I hope it makes it easier to get a bootable CD than with the BartPE plugins it was possible to find on Internet before (I failed to get a working BartPE disk on that new computer).

        * If you were looking to purchase a backup/recovery program, what are the three top features you would look for?

--once set it should not bother me. In every case it should provide me complete report in .html format
--should not bog down my system and eat on resources while backing the data
--should be able to save my configurations, should in case I have to reinstall or such as reformat system
--should must have/support Incremental backups, as it saves a lot of time.
--should not require closing Lotus notes or Outlook to backup email files

        * Based on the features Paragon Backup & Recovery 10 Suite has (refer to the fact sheet for detailed list of all features), would you pay $49.95 to purchase it? If no, please state the price you would be willing to pay.

-- For my budget $49.95 is costly, it may differ for others. For all the features listed on their website, I would be willing to pay US$30, including taxes.
Missing features according to me:
--there is no encryption for the data which is backed-up on the local drive (Paragon Backup Capsule). In fact I do not see anything mention about encryption. This is a serious concern.
--it does not allows backing data to just an image file like ISO or bin.
--no mention of compressing the data while doing the backup.

        * (Optional) Please provide any other feedback you may have for Paragon Software.

--Paragon Software download size is exceptionally higher than other's in the same category. This becomes annoying.
--They have at least 2/3 softwares with almost similar title, which is good enough to confuse. Example: System Backup & Drive Backup.
--They change the names of their software quite often (re-brand0 and this decreases the consistency and to some extent trust.

Thanks,

I do around monthly backups without fail. Storm might hit you and boom all your data is gone.
I backup office files/reports/drawings and designs/personal stuff pictures/music/movies etc.
Well, a backup software forme should be:

-Not a system hogger and definitely will not make my pc suffer from it.
-Effectiveness/ease of use(sort of a dummy will/can use it after small reading..lol)
fast backup/restore process without booting issues.
-recovery from complete unstable unbooted system from recovery cd(Linux cd/WinPE or flashdrive)
-Should be able to backup/restore files/folders on top of incremental and the whole disk partition. VirtualBox support backup/restore would be nice additional.
-ENCRYPTION definitely. Strong one too.

$49 to purchase it...hmmmmm..personally it would be very attractive if the cost is between $30-40 only. So my answer is no.There are a lot of new features yes but for a home user they would unlikely be using only a fraction of all of it. The power user at home might but all the features are mostly geared for office support(most offices have Acronis $75/Norton $78...I think..price might be incorrect though..). Power users or administrators or poeple in IT will be tempted. Personally I wanna see it perform to check out all it's features.

I backup regularly once a month. Image backup. But I would like to have or do incremental backups of files especially is I have done work that is important weekly.

Usually I backup workfiles first(CAD drawings/reports etc), personal files from another seperate hdd, and miscellaneous files.

What I would look for is it's reliability to get the job done. Ease of use. No hiccups whatsoever. Features should be up-to-date with current trends in computing. No boot problems upon restore. Backup/Restore including email clinet contents(from incremental/whole disk partition). Selective restore function would be nice for the things you need only at the moment you need it and not the whole increment/partition. It would also be nice if someone has made something that will have sort of an exclusions feature so if you make a scheduled backup it will not back it all up with the exclusions in place. Really would like o see one wiht that. Of course scheduling would be without hitches. Some of the scheduling features of freeware are horrible.

WinPE 2.1 compatibility feature is must especially for Win7 users. with x64 support. Flash memory capability atop Linux cd is also a must with the ne designs of mobos that are capable of it. Dynamic disk support/Online backup and restore --would definitely be a good feature imagine using the files along side backing it up) VSS support for multiple data.

Virtual disk/Individual File/Folder restore/resize when restoring. Would like one to be able to restore a whole partition from a small hdd to a big capacity drive and make the data proportionate. Not a clone feature but a restore one.

And the one great feature should be tech support. 24/7 and reliable. Will certainly get a product with loving support like your Mom. Good product should have good reliable tech support because when your in trouble and no help....the product ends up in the trash. Plus gossip/bad experiences spread like wildfire.

$49 for a suite...? Yeah why not if the features are working to the "T".

Hi Ashraf
Here are my answers:
1. Yes, ones a month.
2. full imagebackup, school work, favorites.
3. like paragons backup capsule. Really nice when you are on the move and need to make a full recovery. Next feature, backup over network. Last feature, Keep several versions of a file.
4. no more than 35 dollars. A student don't swim in cash.
5. (optional) Keep up the good work.
