Just so people know, iCare Software is one of the companies MikeR called out in his post Beat deceitful developers at their deceitful games by calling them out on their deceitful “awards”. Before posting about this freebie I made sure to check up on iCare Software and see if they have cleaned up their act or not; and it seems like they have. I can no longer find those fake awards/reviews.
Thought I’d give it a try, but the activation code doesn’t appear to work. Oh well… worth a try.

Activation failed for me first try. Succeeded second time.
Took Me 2 times to use activation code,,,,no hitchs after that…..

No problem with activating.
It is possible that those having problems may have copied a space either before or after the activation code.
In Ashraf’s image of where to place the code, there is a short paragraph which shows a tip stating not to copy spaces as it could lead to activation failure.
Just a question, if it happens that I need to re-install Windows, will I be able to use this license key or it is time-limited and expires after 25th of December?

I just wanted to comment on the functionality of this software, I have tried quite a few recovery software out there, and none of them have recovered as many files as this one has. I’ve had this PC for 4 years and it did recover files from 4 years ago. Recovery rate is very good considering how many read/writes this PC has done. I would estimate the rate so far to be about 70-75 % complete uncorrupted recoveries on my PC. Curious to see how much luck others are having with this. Thanks again to ASHARAF and all of DOTTECH.ORG!!!!

In fact I was not even asked to enter any license key, it seems I have entered some key before at another iCare promotion. In fact the program does not seem that great, at least for file recovery, one cannot choose a single folder to look for lost data, butt a whole partition, which is not that smart, at least for me.
slmz Ashraf.when i try to activate icare data recovery i get a little block that pops up saying “internet failure please check net setting or try again” im using a usb modem and it works fine.also tried to activate software using dial up modem and get same problem.please help.i got a toshiba satelline laptop

Sorry but the serial number does not work for me even after 5 tries. Is it because I’m too late? I even tried typing it. I used to have it in my old computer and just wanted to add it in the new one just in case.
