How to root Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge SM-G935F on Android 6.0 [Guide]

Samsung Galaxy S7These are the instructions to root Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge SM-G935F smartphones running on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update using the CF-Auto-Root one-click rooting application presented by Chainfire.

REQUIREMENTS

  • The following guide is intended for use with the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge with the SM-G935F model number. Any other model number will probably get bricked unless you have been informed by the developer it is fine to use.
  • You must have a computer that is running Windows to follow this guide. The Odin flashing tool is made by Samsung developers to work with Windows operating systems only. It won’t flash using a different operating system.

BEFORE WE BEGIN

  • Rooting the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge smartphone using the CF-Auto-Root application will trip Knox and return a warranty status void message should you try to send it away under warranty.
  • The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge smartphone might not come with the Developer Options unlocked and therefore you may not be able to enable the USB Debugging Mode yet. Unlock the Developer Options menu if it is hidden from your settings menu by tapping on the Settings app > About Device > Build Number at least 7 times and do not stop until it says you are now using the device as a developer.
  • Turn on the USB Debugging Mode from the S7 Edge’s settings by tapping on the Settings app > Developer Options > USB Debugging Mode. Once you have ticked the box for the debugging, head out of the Developer Options menu and it will automatically remember your preferences.
  • Install the Samsung USB Drivers on your computer before starting with the guide. You can extract the driver package the same way you would extract the rooting package and then just run them until they are installed. You can double click the executable file and then follow the on-screen commands to finish up the installation.
