In just the last few weeks we have finally found a way to root the smartphone by using an updated versions of the KingRoot app which you can find in this guide. Most rooting guides do not require you to have the bootloader unlocked before you do them, but this one does according to the original developer, so make sure you do that before using this guide.

Here is everything you need to root AT&T HTC Desire 626 smartphones when they are running on the Android 5.1 Lollipop software updates by using an updated versions of the world’s most popular one-click rooting application, namely KingRoot.

REQUIREMENTS

  • The following guide will root the AT&T version of the HTC Desire 626 smartphone when it is running on the Android 5.1 Lollipop updates. You should not follow this guide with any other device unless you bought the AT&T version of the Desire 626 smartphone. Moreover, it might be worth noting that this rooting method was posted on the XDA-Developers website by a junior member.
  • According to the original poster of this rooting method, an internet connection is required for it to work.
  • You must unlock the bootloader on the AT&T HTC Desire 626 smartphone before you can use this guide or else you will brick the device.

BEFORE WE BEGIN

  • Make sure you have enabled the Unknown Sources option from the HTC Desire 2626 smartphone before starting with the guide by tapping on the Menu > Settings > Security > Unknown Sources.
