What about Flashcode ? I use it on my Motorola Fire XT311 and it seems to run very well as far as I know. (it is a recent thing for me)

Based on the criteria used above it would fall short but it provides what I was looking for: run one app to scan anything from barcodes to products and get some info and price comparisons. My second choice is your top pick: Barcode Scanner by ZXing. I really appreciate this review for opening my eyes to other products and criteria.

@Ashraf: Thanks for the slew of Android reviews amongst others articles in recent times plus the CC articles. You’re producing so many reviews I’m having a hard time keeping up! Also thanks to Locutus for posting during the dry spell.
