Freebie Details
This freebie comes with little information attached to it, so not much is known about it. However, from the freebie page and the license email, it looks like a perfectly legitimate freebie, so hop on it while you can!
- Version being given out for free: 10.0.4400.20 (latest version)
- Supported OS: Windows 2000+
First, go to TuneUp’s promotion page. You’ll be asked for your email and a retailer; for the retailer, you can enter anything.
Once you’ve entered your email and retailer, hit Get product key. You’ll be asked to re-enter your email, but once that’s done, the email will be on its way.
Now go check your email. With any luck, you’ll find an email from TuneUp giving you a link to a “personal product key”:
Clicking on the link will take you to the page with the product key and a link to the download.
Congrats! Now just set up TuneUp Utilities and enter the key into the nagbox to register TU2011.

Update: Thanks to Paul and Elliot for notifying me about the missing link! It has been fixed now.

@Ron Lewis: UPDATE! The following was received and NOT good!
Sorry, we were unable to deliver your message to the following address.
:
Mail server for “tune-up.com” unreachable for too long
Well it looks as we are SOL.
Well, I’ll just keep using a keygen. Have been for three years. You could always go that route.
Sorry for you Ron.
Kudos Brandon. Thats what I’ve been doing as well since 2k7
Hey,
I entered the promotion for a Tuneup Utilities 2011 Free Key when I saw the active posting here on dottech.org and everything went OK applying for the license. When I received the Tuneup email with the download link the link sent me to the page with the message “Unfortunately, we are unable to process your request. Please check that your browser accepts cookies and that Javascript is enabled. Please also check that the URL you have entered is complete or click directly on the appropriate link in the e-mail or on the website of our promotion partner! If necessary, please try again later.”
I emailed Daniel Takahashi – Schwarz, Tuneup Software Support who replied he would like a copy of the activation email(s) that I received. I had tried to get my key re-sent as I had registered my email address in time but always was sent to the same message as mentioned above. My last email with Daniel Takahashi – Schwarz, he wrote back – “I am sorry to inform you that this promotion was a fake brought by someone illegally. Were still investigating the case. Thank you for your understanding”
I really would like to know if it was a fake or if Tuneup are going back on the promotion and not issuing me a key despite registering successfully for one.
Hope this info helps. Thanks
Tux :)
Used a free giveaway that they did for 2012, and its come up as “not a genuine blah blah blah” so Ive just removed the prog. Not payiong some ridiculous figure for something I’d rarely use
