Software Description

The following is a description of Ashampoo Photo Commander 8, as per the developer:

Overview

Ashampoo Photo Commander is probably the only tool you need for organizing, editing, sharing and presenting your digital photos. In addition to this it can also be used for managing your audio and video files, with high-quality integrated players.

Finding photos is easy, no matter how big your collection is: You can sort and search for images and duplicate images by names, tags and other attributes, view your collection by folder or date, view thumbnail previews of all your images and more. Instant previews and full-screen mode are always just a click away, along with integrated viewers and players for video and audio files.

dotTech Advice

I have never really been much of a photo guy so I can’t rightfully give proper advice about Ashampoo Photo Commander 8. I can say, however, Ashampoo Photo Commander has a lot of photo-related features bundled into one soft. From editing to converting to effects to renaming slideshows to collages to burning on CD/DVD to organizing to optimizing and everything in between, if you name it Ashampoo Photo Commander 8 has some form of it.

Okay, okay — Ashampoo Photo Commander 8 doesn’t have everything. Obviously my above statement is an hyperbole but I think you get my point: If you work with photos/images a lot, Ashampoo Photo Commander 8 is definitely worth looking at.

This offer is still valid Dec 12,2011. There system does not like anonymous e-mails. They do honor a request not to send e-mails on a regular basis. I’ve registered it. No time for testing.

    Thanks Ashraf

I have Several Ashampoo products but this one is the hardest to get registered. When I enter my email it appears to take me to a FAQ page. I just gave up. If the product has an english version then why can’t they have the registration in english.

I have been using this program for a while mainly for its “Scan An Image” option. It is several times faster than the scanning program that came with my printer/scanner. I have an Epson Stylus NY420.

As always, thanks Ashraf for the programs and reviews and to everyone else for the comments and suggestions. A regular visit to this site has long been and remains a favorite part of my morning coffee ritual. :-)

Just gave it a quick try, I create web pages and graphics and usually use Paint Shop Pro (Corel) X3 or Photoshop. I will say that the collage part is good, the organize section is also very nice. The editing, however, is lacking in any real controls over the image. For someone who just wants to make a few collages or do just a little, it would be a great program and an even better freebie! The controls are easy to find and easy to use, inside of 1 minute I had a rather nice collage of some old pictures.

For a photo editor or someone who creates their own graphics, I think they will need more editing ability. With that said, I’m keeping it anyway! Their are so many family photos I can use it on to make collages and to organize my 45 gig of graphics!
Thanks! What a nice thing to wake up to in my mail!
