dotTech Advice

Aiseesoft Studio is a reseller and/or subsidiary of Wondershare Software; all Aiseesoft products are essentially rebranded Wondershare programs. Wondershare DVD Ripper Platinum is an excellent feature-filled DVD ripper. As such, Aiseesoft DVD Ripper is also an excellent DVD ripper.

Now it should be noted Aiseesoft Studio is notorious for spamming, even spamming dotTech in the past. So you can reject Aiseesoft software on the basis of ethics and netiquette. However, if you don’t give a rat’s @$$ about ethics and what not… grab this freebie while you still can.

Do not use any product by AiseeSoft, they’re just a bunch of scumbags. 99% of the files that get installed are either part of the FFmpeg or the QT project. Just look at the installed files and you’ll see it yourself. These are OPEN-SOURCE projects. Sure they can be used in commercial software, but to be able to use it in commercial software you have to follow some easy rules. AiseeSoft doesn’t follow any of them. Not even a mention nor a link on their website.
This is a perfect example how commercial software abuses open-source. I’d like to go as far as comparing it to slavery, letting others do your job unpaid. AiseeSoft themselves know absolutely nothing about videoconverting, all they know is how to use an API.
