Earlier I posted about Lavasoft Ad-Aware AE ^[1]; I talked about how the program has been improved by Lavasoft quite a bit since the last edition. However, some people dislike Ad-Aware claiming that it has poor detection rates, a small signature base, etc. Now I am not confirming nor denying these claims (although it is worth noting that PCMag gave Ad-Aware Pro 08 a higher rating then SAS 4.0 Pro). But I am here to inform you that if you dislike Ad-Aware, there is always SUPERAntiSpyware. Generally people complaining about Ad-Aware will recommend SUPERAntiSpyware over it.

SUPERAntiSpyware Professional 4.0 installs and scans rapidly, but it still needs to get better at removing malware.

Pros
Very quick, easy installation. Scans rapidly, even on malware-infested systems. Can repair malware-caused configuration changes. Free version offers full-powered scan-and-clean.

Cons
Doesn’t remove or block malware as effectively as the top-tier standalone antispyware products. Doesn’t attempt to remove or block commercial keyloggers.
