About Android Apps of the Day

Android has over 450,000 apps. With so many apps out there, app discovery (aka finding new and useful apps) is extremely difficult. With our Android Apps of the Day initiative, dotTech aims to change that. Everyday we post three apps, allowing our readers to discover new apps, daily. Enjoy! UrlToPDF

As the name may indicate, UrlToPDF allows you to create a PDF out of any website URL, akin to printing a page as a PDF file. Using either Convertmyurl, Joliprint, or Pdfmyurl, UrlToPDF creates PDF files out of URLs which can then be saved to your device and/or shared via email, messaging, etc. To use UrlToPDF, all you have to do is select “Share” while browsing a website and then select “UrlToPDF” or “UrlToPDF Background” from the menu that pops up; after that simply select the service you want to use and wait while the PDF is created. If you don’t want to use UrlToPDF via the “Share” menu, you can launch UrlToPDF from your app tray and manually enter the URL you want as a PDF.

Take note to use UrlToPDF you need an active Internet connection.

Real Steel

Real Steal is a Mortal Combat-like fighting game set in the future where 2,000 pound robots duke it out in one on one, Fight Club style fights. You can play either “Tournament Mode” where you pick one robot and fight your way to the finals or “Free Sparring Mode” where you can do any single exhibition fight against a robot of your choice. You control your robot via an on-screen dpad and a four button controller (punch left, punch right, block, and special hit). Oh and be warned: Winning fights is harder than you may think.

The attraction to Real Steal is it has fairly good graphics. However, for these graphics you have to download quite a bit with the app itself being 32 MB and an additional game pack being 60 MB. Take note Real Steal comes in two editions, Real Steel Free and Real Steel HD. The developer does not mention what are the differences between these two editions.
