About iOS Apps of the Day

iOS has over 600,000 apps. With so many apps out there, app discovery (aka finding new and useful apps) is extremely difficult. With our iOS Apps of the Day [6] initiative, dotTech aims to change that. Everyday we post three apps, allowing our readers to discover new apps, daily. Enjoy! This app also includes four card layouts and eight card themes, you can choose a photo from your Photo Library or snap a picture from within the app, position, rotate, and scale your photo right onto the card, optionally change the color of your photo to Black & White or Sepia-Tone, type in your own custom title and message, choose from 5 fonts to customize your title and message, use one of 32 retro-styled stamps or create a custom stamp from your photos, send right from the app via email, Facebook, or Twitter, and save to your Gallery for review later and view all your travels with the built-in map.

Anybox

[12]Anybox is an instant messenger that uses email as the means for communication. Before you get to use the full functionality of the app, you need to send an email using your internal email app to activate the app. After that is done you can change your photo and even put in a status update. You can copy photos from your computer to your mobile device. All you do is email your friends through @anybox.me address and the photos you receive can be automatically saved to your camera roll. You also get notification and alert emails where you can have them sent directly to your Anybox or forward them from your Gmail, Yahoo, or Hotmail.

The one thing that is bothering about this app is that even though you set up an email address with Anybox you have no way of signing in. If you get a new phone then you might have to create a new email address. There should e a way to take care of your account on Drop Box.

dotTechies: We have tested all the apps listed above. However, iOS Apps of the Day articles are not intended as “reviews” but rather as “heads-up” to help you discover new apps. Always use your best judgement when downloading apps, such as trying trial/free versions before purchasing paid apps, if applicable.
