About Android Apps of the Day

Android has over 450,000 apps. With so many apps out there, app discovery (aka finding new and useful apps) is extremely difficult. With our Android Apps of the Day initiative, dotTech aims to change that. Everyday we post three apps, allowing our readers to discover new apps, daily. Enjoy! BitTorrent

BitTorrent is the official BitTorrent client for Android. BitTorrent allows users to download torrents by either manually inputting torrent URLs into BitTorrent or downloading torrent files from your browser and then loading them into BitTorrent. BitTorrent has a search feature but that feature simply runs a Google search in your browser. Via ‘Settings’ users have the ability to limit download and upload speeds, change the incoming TCP port, and make BitTorrent auto-start on device book. Other than torrents, BitTorrent has the ability to subscribe and follow RSS feeds.

Take note at the time of this writing BitTorrent is in Beta; and after reading BitTorrent’s Play Store page description, it sounds like BitTorrent may or may not be free after it exits Beta. However, while in Beta BitTorrent is a free app.

Poop Salary

Ever wonder how much your poops at work cost? I mean, the time you take to poop — how much is it worth, based on your wage or salary? Poop Salary is an app that allows you to calculate just that.

With Poop Salary you set your hourly wage rate or yearly salary. There are three ‘profiles’ of which you can set separate wages/salaries for – ‘Default’, ‘Overtime’, and ‘2nd Job’ – and switch between the profiles accordingly. Once you have your wage/salary set, when you go to poop you run Poop Salary and hit the ‘Start Pooping’ button which tracks how long you take to poop; the time you take to poop is used to calculate how much that poop cost. To help track pooping performance, there is a ‘Stats’ tab that shows past poops and highest score ever, weekly high, monthly high, and year to date high.

GYRO

GYRO is a unique arcade game for Android. In GYRO you control a three-colored wheel that is attacking by colored balls. The goal of the game is to make sure the attacking colored balls land on the match color of the wheel, e.g. a blue attacking ball should hit the blue part of the wheel. You must rotate the wheel to ensure the balls don’t land in the wrong colors; if too many balls land in the wrong colors then it is game over. The longer you play each turn, the harder it gets and the more points you score. If you ever end up scoring 20,000 and 30,000 points, you get to unlock ‘8-Bit Sound Set’ and ‘Pro Mode’ (Pro Mode has increased difficulty).

GYRO sounds very simple on paper but while playing it is extremely hard and very addicting.
