Android has over 450,000 apps. With so many apps out there, app discovery (aka finding new and useful apps) is extremely difficult. With our Android Apps of the Day initiative, dotTech aims to change that. Everyday we post three apps, allowing our readers to discover new apps, daily. Enjoy! Jelly Bean, the next major iteration of Android, comes with a new Jelly Bean wallpaper created by Google. Jelly Bean Live Wallpaper is a live wallpaper that copies that Jelly Bean wallpaper and brings it to all Android devices, regardless of if you have Jelly Bean or not.
The wallpaper doesn’t have much settings aside from controlling the quantity, size, and speed of the floating bubbles and enabling/disabling wallpaper movement whenever you pan homescreen. The attraction to this wallpaper is that it is Jelly Bean’s wallpaper.

In the upcoming US Presidential elections, Barrack Obama will be defending his seat against Mitt Romney. Obama VS Romney is a political humor game which lets you picks sides in this battle and play as Obama or Romney with the goal of knocking the other person out of the election.
In this game Obama and Romney each have basketball shooting bazookas. The goal is to aim your bazooka and hit the other person (who is on the other side of the map) until his health runs out. The person who’s health runs out first lose. There are random powerups you can get which lie in the middle of the map to help you in your task.

dotTech has featured many anti-theft apps in our Best Free Android Apps series. Anti-Theft Alarm is an anti-theft app but of a different kind. The anti-theft apps featured by dotTech in the past have all been device trackers, remote control, etc. type apps. Anti-Theft Alarm doesn’t do any of that. What Anti-Theft Alarm does is it automatically plays a siren whenever your device is moved, thus alerting you of possible theft if you ever leave your phone somewhere such as on a table.
Using Anti-Theft Alarm is very easy. In settings you select the delay time (how much seconds of delay you require between you activating Anti-Theft Alarm and when Anti-Theft Alarm is activated — time that allows you to place your device on a surface without triggering the alarm) and set a pin code (pin code is optional). Then you activate Anti-Theft Alarm whenever you want to use it (you must manually activate it every time you want to use it). Once Anti-Theft Alarm is activated, whenever your device is moved an alarm siren is automatically played. If you opted to enable pin code, then that pin code is required to stop the alarm (if you didn’t opt to use a pin code, then the alarm can be stopped by anyone).
As useful as Anti-Theft Alarm sounds, it is a new app and there are some issues with it. Firstly, Anti-Theft Alarm doesn’t work if your device’s screen is turned off. As such, while Anti-Theft Alarm is enabled, it does not allow your device’s screen to turn off (which wastes battery) and if you manually turn off your device’s screen, Anti-Theft Alarm won’t sound its alarm until the screen is turned on. Secondly, Anti-Theft Alarm’s developer claims the app has features which it does not have. For example, the developer claims the siren is sounded when your device is moved or the screen is touched; as per my tests, siren only sounds when the device is moved — it does not sound when the screen is touched. Another example is how the developer claims to allow users to pick their own alarm sound but there is no such option for it.
Still, as I mentioned Anti-Theft Alarm is new to Android so there is still hope that it will fix whatever issues it has. Keep an eye on Anti-Theft Alarm if you are interested in it.

dotTechies: We have tested all the apps listed above. However, Android Apps of the Day articles are not intended as “reviews” but rather as “heads-up” to help you discover new apps. Always use your best judgement when downloading apps, such as trying trial/free versions before purchasing paid apps, if applicable.
