TuneIn Radio turns your iDevice into a portable radio. You can listen to news, music, or sports not only locally, but from stations around the world. The app presently boasts over 70,000 radio stations and 2 million on-demand programs, including your favorites such as ESPN, CBS, and the BBC. TuneIn Radio amazingly allows you to search for a song/artist to find currently live music. The app also allows you to pause and rewind every station while you’re listening.
I appreciate the fact that the app provides present stations just like your automobile radio does. Given the sheer number of stations/programs on this show, it will take you awhile to fill up your presets. You also have the possibility of recording the music you are listening to if you choose to support the developer and use the in-app purchase.
Price: Free (record music for $0.99)
Requires: iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad; iOS 4.0 and up
Download size: 14.1 MB

Note the rewind/seek is only in the PRO version.
Aside from that I would agree this is the best radio app for iphone or andriod. There is also a “car” mode that makes the UI much simpler and sleep timer/clock radio modes more than make this the only radio I need.
But I only hope they keep up with updates and such. There are some rumblings that a lot of the 70k feeds they claim are now dead. And there are some bugs, like the radio starting on its own even when the app isn’t running… very embarrassing in meetings. (edit:this may be due to losing signal on one wifi network and it’s simply resuming when it reconnects but there should be an option to turn off that)
@Coyote: Thanks for the additional words. I find that with radio stations there are so many feeds, that it is hard for the developer to stay on top of them. I did find several stations that had died, but it is pretty much par for the course with radio apps.
I can see how the bug (i.e. meeting) would be amusingly embarrassing. You might want to contact the developer about that one.
