Gorgeous seaside resort in Kerala, India [Amazing Photo of the Day]

Despite how rich or poor a country may be, every nation has some sort of vacationing spot. For India, once such place is Kerala. With its oceanfront property and beautiful views of the sea, Kerala is a tourist hotspot. To accommodate those tourists, companies have built stunning resorts that will absolutely amaze you. Indeed you may even forget you are in India, a country where poverty is widespread with 1/3 of the people living on less than US$1.25 a day.

The following is a photograph of the Kovalam Ashok Beach Resort, situated at Leela Kovalam Beach, Kerala. Although I’m not Indian myself, I must say I am impressed — it is gorgeous. Check it out yourself:

Just beautiful Ashraf. You said “Check it out yourself”, like I sked you once before, are you sending travel tickets?

I can guess your reply. Something along the lines of: “In your dreams, dude!”

Anyway yet another category of ‘Amazing Photos”. Thanks

A curse on these new hotel constructions. I have seen this place in pristine purity without any ugly concrete structures. Thanks to venal politicians, all nature spots in India are totally spoiled. Compare this with Banff in Canadian rockies. The town has been kept frozen since several years and looks good.

    Mr. Boss

@jayesstee: Hehe, if I could afford a resort like that… Yeah, well you understand. :-P
    You are welcome!
@dprangan: You mean you prefer natural environment more than man made vacation spots?

India is NOT poor. There are far too many poor Indians, but that is a different thing.

@Paul D: So what makes a country poor if having poor citizens does not? Does having the GDP per capita of roughly $1,400 qualify India as poor? India may have a lot of money but they also have a lot of people. $1 billion spread across 10 billion is not equal the $1 billion spread across 5.
In any case, I never said India is poor. I said 1/3 Indians live below the poverty line.

Poor or not… Indian people certainly have a talent for applying charisma, splendour, rich colours and beautiful embroidery in a tasteful manner.

I also envy India’s sudden rise to industrial prominence.

    And, no, I’m not Indian.

I don’t know what criteria is used to define “poor”, but India is one of the few Nations with its own Space Program while at the same time accepts aid from the UK Government!
