Are you a fan of this free JavaScript game? Apparently someone was, as it’s made its way into a Windows 8 app and onto the Windows Store. There, it’s downloaded by thousands as it’s incredibly fun, high-definition graphics rock the world. Escapa is a free game in which you simply must survive the longest.
The goal behind Escapa is quite simple. As soon as you click or tap, the blue rectangles will start moving. Your goal is to tap/click and drag the red square out of their ways for as long as possible. Unfortunately, the square is quite small, and the games are not randomly generated. This means you get the same paths each time you start the game, which could be used to develop some kind of strategy against it.
Escapa is a fairly mediocre app. Its blatant, nothing-improved ripoff of a dozen-year-old game certainly shows, and while it seems that it would be interesting from a historical point, there’s really no good reason for it to be a Windows 8 app rather than a simple webpage.
