[iPhone] Follow just snippets of a webpage with NetSnips

NetSnips is a clever new new app that simplifies web browsing and surfer productivity. Do you find yourself going to the same website every day, but only for once small piece of content on the physical page? Maybe you never really thought about it, but many surfers do exactly that. Whether it is an extended weather forecast, stocks, movie times, sports team standings/scores, or any other frequently updated web content, each usually only takes up only a portion of the webpage. NetSnips is used to literally highlight (i.e. snip) the specific element on the page you want to follow.

Once you have a snip, you then have the option of pinning it to a wall provided in the app. When you later return, you will only see an updated (current) version of that portion of the page pinned to the wall You also can click on the snip at any time to expand the webpage to the iPhone’s entire viewing window. What also is intriguing is that NetSnips allows you to create as many snips as you want and place them on the wall in any arrangement. It reminds me a little of some of the frame/collage apps I have reviewed recently as you can drag the snips anywhere you wish.

In general, I like to think of NetSnips as a sort of specialized web browsing app for my favorites. The added benefit over other apps being that you get to see only the content you want and nothing more or less. It is similar to Hulu’s “dim the lights” feature where you only see the video and nothing else.
