[Windows] Monitor CPU usage, memory usage, and computer temperature from your system tray with Perfgraph

[1]Keeping tabs on your CPU and memory usage is a must for anyone who likes to keep their system in tip-top shape. If you’re one of those people, try Perfgraph. It’s a free program that adds a surprisingly minimal chart to your taskbar that can show CPU, memory, network ping time, and even computer temperature.

What is it and what does it do

Perfgraph is a small and simple program designed to one thing, and to do it well. It lets you monitor critical system statsistics, such as CPU and memory usage, all from the convenience of a small toolbar next to your system tray. It’s really a great tool for monitoring hardware usage.

Pros

  • Temperature and network ping time support
  • Minimalistic
  • Uses very small amount of RAM and CPU
  • Allows for the use of multiple indicators at once

Cons

  • On first start asks if you’re sure you want to run it on this version of Windows

Discussion

[2]A consistently high amount of RAM usage can be the cause of computer slowdowns. The same is true with your CPU: raise the workload, and your apps slow down with it. If you use Perfgraph, you’ll be able to get glancable graphs that let you view your current system resource usage in just a split second.

Perfgraph can display more than CPU and RAM usage, however. It can also display the time it takes for a ping to go on a round trip from your computer to a server of your choice. If that’s not your thing, it can even measure current network bandwidth.

My favorite part of Perfgraph, however, is the temperature graphing. This lets you view your current computer’s temperature by glancing down, and if you don’t even have time to process the width of the bar, you can just go by color.

Conclusion and download link

Perfgraph is a very useful program. Since it allows multiple copies to be running at once, it’s also perfect for everyday system management: you can view CPU and memory usage just by glancing at its small charts, and can track computer temperature and network ping times in just the same way. If you’re looking for a way to view your computer usage statistics, Perfgraph is the way to go.
