Transferring files between devices has never been so easy. Thanks to Dukto Portable R5, you no longer have to worry about standard protocol, operating systems, permissions, etc. Simply start Dukto Portable R5 on the two devices you want to transfer files between, and you’re go to go. No configuration needed!

WHAT IS IT AND WHAT DOES IT DO

Main Functionality

To put it simply, Dukto Portable R5 is a program that allows you to transfer files from one device to another. I say device because it works on more than just PCs. The transfer process is easy because no configuration is needed, and you don’t have to worry about severs, clients, protocols, permissions and so on. It is just a quick and simple way to get files from one device to another without any hassle.

Pros

  • No installation required
  • No configuration needed
  • Files transfer quickly
  • Features auto-discovery
  • Files received can be opened directly from this application
  • Has third-party apps for Android, BlackBerry, Symbian, and Maemo that support the file transfer process

Cons

  • Dukto Portable R5 has to be running on both computers
  • Other programs available that can accomplish this same goal (some can even do it better)

Discussion

The ability to transfer files from one computer to another is nothing groundbreaking. In fact, there are tons of programs out there that can accomplish this same goal. The only reason why Dukto Portable R5 has a leg up on them is because of how easy transferring files can be.

First of all, the program is completely portable. There is a non-portable version available, but I prefer not to install things when I don’t have to. It is a good thing that you don’t have to install this program, because you will need it running on any device that you want to transfer files to.

One thing that makes this program so easy to use is its “zero configuration” policy. They don’t want you to have to go through and worry about severs, clients, protocols, etc. They want you to run this program and quickly transfer files between devices.

Some of the features that Dukto Portable R5 has include: client auto-discovery, Multi-OS native support, the ability to transfer files at a high speed, full Unicode support, metro style UI, and the ability to open files directly in the application itself. If you are running Windows 7, the program can even be integrated with the progress and transfer indicator. To make things even easier, you can quickly show your IP addresses on the IP connection page.

CONCLUSION AND DOWNLOAD LINK

Really, there is not much to say about this program. It does what it says it will do. The reason why it is great is because of how easy it makes the transferring process. If you are one of those people who have had problems with other transferring programs, you owe it to yourself to give Dukto Portable R5 a try.

I assume this does it via the web ?
Any programs that do it (Galaxy S2 phone to PC) via usb cable, or Bluetooth ?
My Android version is 4.0.3 (ICS), and my usb cable attempts failed.
Bluetooth worked, but was picky/flaky and painful to get working.
