[Windows] Remove unwanted, or dangerous, files and programs from your computer with FreeFixer

For some, removing threats from their computer is not the hard part, but finding the threats is a different story. Many threats (spyware, adware, viruses, etc.) like to hide deep within your computer so you never even know they are there. If you don’t know they are there, you will never try to get rid of them. FreeFixer is a general purpose removal tool. Its only goal is to locate threats on your computer and help you delete them.

WHAT IS IT AND WHAT DOES IT DO

Main Functionality

FreeFixer is simply a general propose removal tool for your computer. Use it to find threats that may be hiding deep within your computer. FreeFixer will help you locate potentially dangerous files and allow you to delete them by entering their location into the file remover. Since it can remove files during start up, this is a great program to help you if you have already become infected.

FreeFizer is NOT an anti-virus or anti-malware program. It is more of a cleaner that flags potentially dangerous files.

Pros

  • Extremely easy-to-use interface
  • Helps you to eliminate unwanted software from your computer (viruses, spyware, adware, etc.)
  • Great program for computer users who know which “files” to delete, but need help finding them
  • Able to delete hard-to-remove threats by deleting them during startup, which makes this a great program for people who are already infected
  • Lists possible threats on your computer, in your browser, and even error messages that your computer has displayed

Cons

  • Scan time is slow
  • Program CANNOT tell you which files are good or bad. This is up to the user to decide.
  • Allows you to delete anything you find, whether it is a file you need or not. The program assumes you know what you’re doing.

Discussion

FreeFixer is a great general purpose removal tool. It is able to scan your whole computer for files that may be unwanted. The keyword is MAY! The creators of this program go above and beyond the point of telling you that FreeFixer is not able to tell you which files are good or bad. It simply searches areas of your computer where threats typically are.

At first, you may think that the program is no good if it doesn’t tell you what threats are on your computer. However, it is the fact that it doesn’t list the threats that makes it great. Since the program lists everything that it finds, it can bring up threats and programs you want off your computer that other removal tools may have missed.

The biggest problem with FreeFixer is the fact that it is not “basic user” friendly. Pretty much, this is a program that is designed for advanced users who are able to clearly identify which files they can and cannot delete from their computer. If you are worried that you may delete something you need, this is not a program for you. FreeFixer is not going to warn you if you are deleting a file you need. It is going to assume you know what you’re doing, and that can be dangerous for someone who doesn’t.

I can honestly say that it did help me remove some pieces of programs that I assumed I had completely removed from my computer. However, during the search it did bring up some system files and settings that I did not want to remove. Had I not known what these files were, I could have caused some serious harm to my computer.

CONCLUSION AND DOWNLOAD LINK

This is what it comes down to. If you’re an advanced user who knows what you’re doing, I highly recommend FreeFixer. If you’re not, stay away! The program can really help you if you know how to use it right, but it can really hurt you if you just go in there and start deleting things at random.
