Football (real football, not American football; also known as soccer) is the most popular sport in the world, often providing (some) solace to even the most volatile regions of the world. Arguably the most significant event in football on the international stage is the FIFA World Cup, which is played every four years. Qatar, a small but rich Arab country situated on the Persian (Arabian) Gulf, won the bid to host FIFA World Cup 2022. The following is one of the stadiums, Doha Port Stadium, they plan on building by 2022 for the World Cup:
