[Android] Organize, backup, and share your photos with NeroKwik

NeroKwik is a useful program that will allow you to easily backup (to the cloud) via sync and share all of your photos. This app could be useful for people who have difficulty sharing photos with friends and relatives that are not on any social networks.

What is it and what does it do

Main Functionality

This app is simply designed to create a cloud-based photo environment that makes your photos incredibly simple to organize. It is supposed to provide a convenient way to always have all of your pictures.

Pros

  • Upload photos to the cloud
  • Create photo tapestries
  • Organize photos for easy locating
  • Share photos and tapestries

Cons

  • Questionable usefulness
  • Buggy
  • No offline backup — all backup must be done via sync to the cloud

Discussion

NeroKwik is an app that will provide you with familiar features. The basic function of the application is to provide the user with a central place to sync and access their photos. It will sync all of your photos to the cloud so you can access them from any device that has an internet connection. The benefits of this function are great because you will never be in a situation where you cannot look at your photos.

NeroKwik will also allow you to create photo collages. NeroKwik attempts to market this feature as unique by calling their photo collages tapestries. While tapestries sounds exciting when it comes to photos, they really are just straight-forward collages, which other apps do a much better job at creating. You can also share any photo or tapestry with a friend or relative while maintaining a pretty solid form of organization.

After using NeroKwik, I’ve found that the app isn’t really all that useful. For starters, you can accomplish a better photo syncing system using Google’s cloud services. The only real benefit is if you have a friend or a relative that doesn’t use social media. But even then, you can always send your photos to other people through a variety of different means just by using stock Android features. Additionally, the fact that they tried to market photo collages as a new and exciting feature doesn’t look good.

Conclusion and download link

Overall, the app functions properly. However, I’m not sure I see a real use for this application given all of the power Google has put at your finger tips. However, if you are interested in using the app, it functions pretty well aside from a couple bugs. The bugs are not too frequent and can be ironed out through future updates. If by some reason you are unsatisfied with Google’s offerings, then perhaps this app could be for you.
