The giant human QR code in Taiwan

In an effort to promote their country in a world seemingly obsessed with technology where practically everyone owns a smartphone, more than 1,000 Taiwanese gathered in the Taipei City Hall to form a giant human QR code last Sunday. This amazing sight was further punctuated with a big blue “Hi” in the middle, composed of 1,369 people carrying umbrellas. When scanned, the code directs users to a site containing the different sites and attractions that Taiwan offers.

According to a spokeswoman for the Wen Cultural & Educational Foundation, “While there may be many other different ways to promote the image of Taiwan, we chose this special way to do so.”

…Only in Taiwan (or Japan or Korea)?
