@Madhamish: Fixed. Thanks for the heads up.

@Bobbimo: You can do that pretty much in any browser very easily using the Google Translate bookmarklet: http://dottech.org/tipsntricks/16233

The download links you provided both give a 404 error.

I am wating for the serial number email but my question is do you get a download link in that email along with the serial number because otherwise I have no clue as to how you actually download the software.

EVEREST 4.6 is really fine and well-recommended. Users just have to know that Everest was acquired, discontinued and replaced by AIDA64, so Everest 5.5 = AIDA64 1.2.

I have had mine since 2008, and it is v. 4.60.1500. Is this a newer version…?

Having just got round to firing this up I’m not too sure how much trust to put into a program that mistakes my Windows 7 home Premium for Vista home Premium.

People have such short memories. Aida16/32 became Everest. And now Everest becomes Aida64? Please it’s nothing more than corporate shuffling a great product, or what once was a great product. Thanks but no thanks, would rather stick with SIW.

  14. Deputy December 12, 2010 at 3:14 PM (comment permalink) -

I agree with Roger; this version of Everest is dated 2008 and considers my my Windows 7 HP-64 as Vista HP 64, and could not identify my motherboard or AMD chipset.

@Everyone: Everyone mentioning the fact that this is an old version is right. I wrote this article over an year ago, when this version wasn’t so old. I should have updated it to include warnings that this is an old version; my apologies for that. I have updated the article now to indicate how old this version is.

EVEREST Ultimate Edition v4.6: This has better features (esp Tools and Benchmarks and Reports)
than SIW. Have used it for years. Some AMD benchmarks may be threatening intel.
The links worked but were extremely slow and it took 10 hours to receive the license key; with it
they included another “en” version to download.
Many thanks and best regards to Ashraf

EVEREST Ultimate Edition v4.6:: Yes, this is an old version.
v4.6 has the same Tools as later, and is good for 2008 hardware.
    ‘Just installed the v4.6 on a friend’s P4.
The latest and apparently last version of Everest is 5.50
and my current subscription was transfered to AID A64.
‘Have not tried AID A64 yet.
    Regards, den

    @den:

I went to the AIDA website and tried the serial number sent to me yesterday to see if it would qualify for the AIDA upgrade, and the AIDA site said that my serial number was expired.

I was not really expecting a free upgrade, but it was worth a try ;-)

Tried twice to download and install. Download worked both times, but each failed at attempted launch with “Unable to execute file: C:\Program files (x86)\Lavalys\EVEREST Ultimate Edition\everest.exe.

    CreateProcess failed; code 740.

    The requested operation requires elevation.

I’m running Win7 home,8g memory, plenty of hard drive space.
    Thanks for any help.

@janetb: It is exactly the same version: 4.60.1500.0. I downloaded the installation file for your sake. [Took me less than a minute]. Rightclick -> Properties -> Details -> and you can see the version…
Did not install the program myself, because I have a newer version: Everest Ultimate Edition Portable version 5.02.1756Beta.
    Greetings, Jaap

    73
  24. Jaap December 13, 2010 at 4:06 AM (comment permalink) -

@Mike: This version (4.60) is not made for Windows 7. You should better use SIW.
One question: how did you install Everest? You must right click on the file executable (everest_ue_4.60.exe) and choose “run as administrator”.
    Greetings, Jaap

    @Jaap:
Thanks for your help–often you have to install in order to see the version #….Is your 5.02.1756Beta also not good for Win7?
