Artist creates portrait of a man… using typewriter parts [Amazing Photo of the Day]

Mark Pelzner’s late father, Marvyn Pelzner, left Mark three typewriters. As a tribute to his father, Mark wanted a portrait sculpted of his dad out of the three typewriters (the parts), so that sculpture could be mounted on top of the box that holds his father’s ashes. As such, Mark approached Jeremy Mayer to do the deed, who came up with the following; check it out:

Not to speak ill of the dead, but is it just me or does that resemble C-3PO?

    Does make me wonder what they’d use to sculpt MY image….

    Great project.

    @Keith:
    LOL – I have about 40 old computers (many salvaged, many bought) around my place. I know what MY kids would use if they had a mind to do a project like this!

    Far more human than C3PO.
    He shares our human frailty of poor vision, hence the glasses.
