When you’re looking for an apartment in New York, don’t be surprised if you end up with living space that’s much smaller than what you’re used to. It seems to be the norm, unless you’re of the wealthy and famous kind of course. But small living spaces don’t necessarily mean things have to be cramped — with a little ingenuity, you can make a small apartment just as awesome as any other place.

Entrepreneur Graham Hill has taken this to the next level with his apartment, however. His apartment is a small studio apartment at first glance, but is a full living space when everything is revealed. All in all, eight actual and very functional spaces are conjured out of 350 420 square feet. It also has a very small footprint physically and environmentally — he is founder of Treehugger.com after all.

Words can only do so much; check out the video below to see one of the most awesome apartments yet.
