Google redesigns Image Search, adds bigger views and keyboard shortcuts

Google has redesigned a lot of its core services like Gmail and even turning Google Docs into Google Drive. So it’s about time that they made significant changes to how image searches work, as its mostly stayed the same over the years save for the few tweaks here and there.
Google says that the redesign was based on feedback from both users and webmasters, and it shows. Clicking on an image doesn’t whisk you away to another page anymore, but instead opens up a nice inline panel with the full image. From here, you’ll have a choice of viewing the image alone, or viewing it on its original page. If you want to continue your search, just scroll down and you’re back where you left off in your search. Another addition is that you can now flip through images using your keyboard — and for keyboard shortcut junkies like me, that’s a very welcome change. The update is rolling out over the next few days, so keep an eye out for it.
